What can we learn from the lives of key historical figures from the Old Testament?

The books of First and Second Samuel were originally one book that covered over 100 years of history. In the Hebrew Scriptures we can follow many historical figures from birth or early childhood through death. Some started well and finished well while others started well and finished tragically. Each week we will look at a historical figure from the books of Samuel to discover how their personal virtues and vices instruct us today for life and leadership.

About our presenter...
Pete Lackey is an author, speaker and IT specialist. For over 25 years Pete has worked in the technology industry where he has led small and large teams responsible for designing, building, and implementing various types of globally dispersed inter-networking solutions where cyber security is central. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Inter-networking Technology from Strayer University.

He is also an author, speaker, teacher and founder of Man’s Ultimate Challenge, a ministry dedicated to equipping men to mentor or disciple other men in biblical manhood utilizing the classic virtues.

Pete attended Southern Evangelical Seminary studying theology, apologetics, and philosophy under some of the giants in the faith. He served at McLean Bible Church for over twenty years as a volunteer instructor where he earned the reputation for addressing tough questions.

He later served on staff at McLean Bible Church for seven years as the Director of Marriage & Family and Director of Preparing for Marriage where he taught with his wife of over 30years. He led and co-authored the Preparing For Marriage course training Marriage Mentors and hundreds of engaged couples on how to build a marriage from the perspective of a biblical worldview.
